The Good, the Bad, and the Special

I am no saint at all, but still I think my good
outweighs my bad. These are some gifts God gave to me:
Loyalty, resilience, and tolerance (many trials I have withstood).
I’m conscientious, and I have the nice ability
to hear and understand. Bearing no grudge, I forgive most easily.

The bad in me I also can easily confess.
I value my alone time, so never will you see me crowned
with glory for much service work; in fact, my laziness
extends to my own housework. Lastly, I let myself get pushed around,
so there are times I really wish that I had stood my ground.

A neighbor once observed me when I was very small.
She told my mom, “That child’s special.” Mother thought so too.
Hearing this repeatedly gave me the wherewithal
to persevere and be consistent, always striving to be true
to who I am; I hope it shows in things I say and do.

Very well written and honest, too. I enjoyed what you wrote about yourself especially because you did just that - Andrea according to her perspective of who she is. I found it touching, again with a sweet element that makes it a vulnerable write - that's special, indeed. Love, CayCay

You are very kind, and saintly, sadly some of your commentators are too and some drink the devils dust, just being poetic!!!

I especially love the last verse where you have personally opened up. What a wonderful thing to hear and to put into effect. Saint - we see in two ways. The way the world uses it almost in an accusatory way, unless you become a martyr. The other way is to see it as Paul writes such as to the Saints in Ephesus. Those who are the Lord’s, all of them are saints. Love ya...hugs, dear one!

I am just me, Kim. i was raised in a church of Latter Day Saints. Some of them were about as close as you could get to being saints. Others not so much!!!
