The Gods Are Against Me

With the weight of the world upon my shoulders, Like Atlas doomed to uphold the Sky Or Sisyphus and his boulder- On Pegasus to thither fly? The Minotaur and its Maze, Medusa and her stony gaze, Aries in a monstrous rage, As Hades steals my Soul to die Prometheus, who gave us fire, Apollo and his golden Lyre, Hera and her jealous ire, And Zeus, who ignores my cries!

Thank you so much for all your wonderful comments! I was hoping we would get a chance to speak so I'm glad you stopped by. :) Yes I do seem to be a slave to rhyme, haha. I can't seem to help myself. I'm very glad you appreciated my work. Thanks so much. :)

Hi, April; thank you for visiting! I am a sort of a Greek mythology buff so I have been familiar with these characters for quite some time. If you liked this piece, may also like my other greek mythology inspired poem "The Visions of Cassandra". Thanks again for the read and reply :)
