From the mailbox, to my utmost delight
I extracted a delicious and delicate sight
I planted these hardy, delectable seeds
Sharing my joy with whoever sees needs
As they took root and sprouted from earth
I felt the wonder of one who sees new birth
Slowly they rose to the sky, stalks of green
Emerald and olive, limbs sent for to glean
I learned that these seeds were from overseas
Soon, I discovered they just might be Chinese
As they podded and grew and reached the sky
The plants seemed to reveal the when and why
I finally found they were only mustard breeds
Today, I season my meatloaves with the weeds!
