The Gift of the Manger

I write a pretty lot and most of my poems are about God
So the present I just got, well to me it doesn't seem odd
Yesterday I wrote Seeing the Manger and today I got one
There three wise men were, Mary, Joseph and Gods Son

Happening all the time that one wouldn't say coincidence
His Name in each rhyme His presence I can always sense
It's always so vividly clear like the Manger I received today
For God is always so near for that is Our Lord's loving Way

The gift touched my heart, but the connection I didn't see
It's a little work of art not the piece of wood it used to be
Carved by ones own hand as now it sits on the fireplace
He makes it easy to understand when you seek His Grace

Only later would I realize as so I wondered in His story
How He opens your eyes, showing glimpses of His Glory
With Mary and Joseph by His Sides There One Child lays
The One who always provides, who I give all my praise
