The Gift of the Dwarves
Deeply they dig
Delving into the hearts
of mountains
Masters of stone
They create underground
palaces
Slowly chipping away
at rocks
They enhance the beauty
of the natural world
They can be fierce foes
Many an orc lost his
head to their axes
The bearded ones
could not fight
the Shadow of Sauron
alone
As Gandalf said"he
is beyond the dwarves of this world
even if they could be gathered together from
the four corners of the world"
The Fellowship of
the Ring
counted one stout
dwarf
in its company
Gimli, by name showed
the tender side
of his people
He waw the elven - queen Galadriel
And knew her beuaty
matched that
of all the "mirthril" of
the world
Gruff exteriors hide
good hearts
When Durin returns
the dwarves
will rejoice
Together with the varied
races of Middle Earth
whom they had a
part
in saving
