The Gift
"I feel you are troubled,"
Said the traveller on my road.
"Your burden, it seems heavy
Let me help you with your load."
"So kind" I said, but no
"It is too vast I fear,
Heavily it weighs upon my heart,
For one no longer here."
"I know" said he, but here am I
I come to ease your pain,
Worry not, she waits for you
You will see her again."
My eyes, they cried a thousand tears
My pain, I felt it lift.
The traveller though, he was gone
I thanked God for his gift.
An angel, he must have been
He knew of my despair.
I felt him reach into my heart,
His words, lay comfort there.
