The Gift
You are the gift . . .
first of its kind God granted me,
unrestrained joy in little boy;
heart bonded unto heart
more firmly knit than strongest glue.
You are the gift . . .
You are the gift . . .
and there were two,
sweet little girl, undemanding;
a giver from the day of birth,
Only God could create such love.
You are the gift . . .
You are the gift . . .
latest and last, my third charming delight,
a yellow daisy of a child
to warm my heart, my life.
You are the gift . . .
You are the gift . . .
three given; one taken away,
a treasure waiting over there,
making heaven more sweet, more fair.
You are the gift . . .
You are the gift . . .
God gave to me,
only He could understand more than a mother
what it means to give a child
for the sake of the world.
You are the gift . . .
