The Ghosts of Christmas

Gotta visit from the Ghosts of Christmas

said I did not pass their spiritual litmus

Ghost of the Past watched as I fell coming out the shower

While admonishing me with a frightening glower

Ghost of Present warned me to change my stripe

just as I realized my arm was burning on the bathroom,s heated pipe

Ghost of Future shouted out with glee

Haha! Now you have burns of 2nd Degree

As I woke up begging for a last-minute reprieve

 I realized then

it,s better to give than it is to receive.
