The Gentleman's Club

Returning from a lunch with a friend
A man he had known for years

My brother shared this lunch time banter
he thought would tickle my ears

His friend had said that men are stupid
And that women, well, they are just mean

Hmmm I said you can tell your pal
That's the most unfinished quote I've seen

To round it out to completion
All factors you must integrate

Both parties need representation
So the girls I will representate

If men ,by his own word,he finds
 intellectually lacking

And women have a tendency,he claims,
To send civility packing

Could one thing have led inevitably
To the consequence of the other

Next time your lunching and chewing the fat
Ask this of your ol' boys club brother

Great humour in rhyme. The 'battle of the sexes' has been around forever. Enjoyable read.

Oh I am sure you are right Vickey! It is often so hard to stay civil when faced with tendencies of ignorance, absolute stubbornness or stupidity. Your excellent poem says it all in defense of all womankind.
