The Geisha
Rice paper lanterns swing gently
In a jasmine scented breeze
Casting a reflective glow
On pink lotus blossoms
Which lazily float by on silvery waters
Under a tiny bridge
Crushed silk of ivory kimono
Rustles as maid hesitates for one moment
Touches jade comb in lacquered hair
And looks toward yellow glow from tea house
Lingers a moment
And with tiny steps hurries to
Where happy gentlemen laugh and wait..
