Notes About The Poem

Hope I'm wrong about this, but here's what I see...

The Future Is Now

Xi Jinping, global hegemony is winning
Vladimir Putin is plotting and grinning
Enriched uranium, Iran's mullahs are spinning
Kim Jong-un's patience and waistline are thinning

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, over this we obsess
Gender-neutral bathrooms: Oy, what a mess
Not to mention 'taking a knee' or critical race theory
All the monument-toppling just makes wise hearts weary

The day draws nigh for the green and yellow men

Hello Gershon … over here, we hope the US remains the most powerful with China looking southward, although they’ve brought plenty of the country out - certainly a verse to think about - thanks Gershon - Lindsay

Ah, I don't think so, gw...not yet. Some of this woke crap will creep into the dark night and be forgotten. We still are the mightiest, strongest nation on earth! Good poem, however, nicely written...prophetic.

I don't know anymore. I'd say the Sino-Soviet (though it's not Soviet anymore) connection has definitely surpassed us at this point. It's a 3-ring circus. Let's see which of the countries self-destructs first: China b/c of oppression/repression/Xi-cultism; Russia b/c of cultism and internal rumblings; USA b/c of apathy and lack of will, + absurd wokeness.
