The Forests
The forests deep, the forests dark,
with mysteries that stir the heart;
the forests tall, the forests proud,
with birds that chirp and twitter loud;
the forests leaves, the forests lush,
small chipmunks scurry in the brush;
the forests far, the forests near,
conceal the owl, bobcat, dear
the forests thick, the forests gray,
make hunters work to find their prey;
the forests calm, the forests clime,
brings peace to a stressed human mind;
the forests dim, the forests damp,
haven for those who love to tramp;
the forests old, the forests vast,
hide ruin from our human past;
the forests new, the forests bright,
give us our wood, paper to write;
the forests nice, the forests cruel,
only the strong will pass this school.
