The Forbidden Fruit

The fruit of knowledge is both sweet and bitter, A taste that lingers, never forgotten. It brings enlightenment, to what once was dim, A path to wisdom, that shall forever win. It brings the wisdom of good and evil's strife, And with it, pain, like a blunt and endless knife. A curse and blessing, is the knowledge we gain, Of the world's deep darkness and brilliant pain. Ignorance is bliss, they say, so true it be, But to know the truth, is to be truly free. The highest highs, the darkest lows, it's all the same, The power of knowledge, a burden to claim. For in it lies the key to our own fate, And with it comes the power to create. So let us suffer, in this knowledge we seek, For it's the only way to truly be unique.
