The Fool
I have no doubt in my heart
the signs are clear, I am fool
I have scattered and not hoarded
and I never paid heed to the ripe ears that fell
I never thought the season would ever pass me by
My trodden paths are places angels would not tread
Is it because they do fear the evil around?
Or was it because I was full on dutch courage
One day, my life will waste away on this mother's ruin.
I pray God to take away the years I have left.
I've squandered and spent the daring days of my youth.
Men of my age now sit in council pointing fingers saying, "He is a fool"
I don't know how long i'll walk this Earth
Though I am a fool, no man can judge me but God.
