The Fire Within
There is somewhat of a fire stirring deep within,
Look in my eyes, and you'll be able to see where I've been.
I have told you about my world, and how I feel,
Every word is from my heart, and the passion is real.
What has been instilled in me, can't be sold or bought,
Yet the lessons I have learned can be taught.
I have learned to love me in an intimate way,
In the strongest of winds I will not sway.
Iam like a sturdy tree, strong winds I can take,
My boughs may bend , but I will not break.
I have been in some storms, and I have weathered them all,
In the face of adversity, I stand tall.
I have gone to war without an army, only me,
I like the shadow, am full of mystery.
You may never really know the real inner me,
You may never fully understand, why I be like I be.
When you look into my eyes, you may see for yourself,
You may finally understand why I have my self respect.
I am like the stars in Heaven up above,
I only want to be appreciated and loved.
That's the fire stirring dedep within me,
I love me, and am proud to be who I be.
