-the Fire-

Lord, I know that You are calling me
to a deeper and greater place.
Yet, for uncertainty I cannot see
if I should press on in this race.

Even now as I write these lines,
I know this one thing for sure.
It is the enemy of my soul who would bind
me with the chains from temptation's lure.

But I find ever it is my choice
to refuse or play Satan's game.
Always before me a way of escape;
that choice is to honor God's Name.

And yet, so much I don't understand
about my will lying deep within.
For it ever seeks to war against God
leading me to that place of sin.

Give me once again the desire
to experience anew my first love.
For I have strongly known forbidden fire
and the passion of Fire from above.

This is excellent, and a vivid portrayal of that daily battle. Fight on, Doug. Donna
