The Fine Fight
The air between us crackled bright
with red and blue and colored light
the prism in your eye foretold
a force no human being could hold
I split the atom in the air
and blasted off away from there
but you pursued in hyperdrive
I knew I could not stay alive
unless I traversed to a realm
where angels tred and at the helm
The Greatest Good would take me in
and let me live and be my friend
You followed tightly on my back
you pressed a frontal lobe attack
The lightning flashed within your smile
You lured me with the sweetest guile
but angels spread their wings around me
showing me the truth had found me
Resist you and they say you'll flee
so get thee back away from me
For I am weak and sick at heart
but someone stronger takes my part
who lifts me up and sets me free
and holds the future out to me.
