The Final Message

The radio airwaves were static For days there had been no traffic Buttons had been pushed hard As generals went that final yard Mushrooms sprouted as peace was lost As we found what arrogance cost And across the airwaves the final words “Forgive us” now seemed absurd. © Paul Warren Poetry
