The Final Day

As I wait in the dark
For the ax to fall on flesh
There's nothing left to say
I won't protest

Many would shout
"She deserves to die"
No sanctioned work
Whereby one could decry
...unfair practices

Lazy, unfit, probably depressed

Shall I take the time
To count my losses
Validate for judgement
I've carried my crosses

Maybe a secret mission
A sacred space in existence
Just doing the work
Without complaint or resistance
...in silence

Martyr, savior complex, crazy....for sure

I tell you the TRUTH
I do not regret the void
Learning to trust in LOVE
Though I'm too often, annoyed

Irritated at freakin' hope
That infernal dangling rope
I want to choke,poke,
Yank, spank, crank
...til it breaks
