The Figures' Memory

The Figures' Memory
Arabic Poem by: Abdulsadah Al-Basri
Translated into English by:

=============================

The Day we devised oblivion
We were canned in our memories
And sent down by the clouds
To body lust
Our children slipped one after another
From between our fingers
And our women became wrapped in whispers
And contempt
So we reconciled
With our dreams
As the night abused us
And the birds lay
At the stops of our lives!!!
