The Fighter
She’s haunted like the rest of us
But she won’t take off her gloves
She’s got her demons like the best of us
But she’s also got her loves
Lurking inside, only she can face them
Though we’ll be standing by her side
And she can defeat but never erase them
Though she can choose the path she’ll abide
And if the darkness leads her astray
Like so many times before
The light inside will show her the way
And she’ll fight on once more
This endless battle may bend her
But her spirit will never break
Hope she knows we’ll always defend her
Because her life is at stake
Lurking outside, we’ll fight them together
Even if the battle is always uphill
Hope she knows we’ll love her forever
Always have and always will
