The Fear To Fly

The moon shines bright
As I lay awake.
It's late at night
With thoughts I can't shake.
He's on my mind,
Always and once again.
I've just got to find
My way back to him.

If only he could see
What I feel in my heart,
What he is to me;
Can't stand being apart.
If he could see as I do
When I close my eyes.
If he only knew
The dreams I visualize.

If he could just feel
What I couldn't say,
He'd know it was real,
Why I ran away.
I feared so deep within
To allow happiness to flow,
Only to be taken away again;
Destroying my heart and soul.

Now since I've come to realize
To not have him by my side,
Never again to look into his eyes;
All that I am will have died.
Our hearts together will bring
A bond that'll never die,
Mending our broken wings,
So together we'll fly.
