The Fear of An Inner Child

Who is this girl, lost and scared
Facing a world, so ill-prepared
Hiding in shadows, crouched down low
Wondering where her life will go
Hugging herself to deal with the fear
Looking for trouble both far and near
But no one can see her troubled mind
Which is safe behind a mask so kind
So next time you see her smiling eyes
Remember the child within the disguise

This is a phenomenal poem, Avery, that deserves wide reading. Exceptional consideration of the inner child.
