The Father of Lies
A week after Christ found me, I showed Him my back
I think now I know how the devil attacks!
Get caught in his net and your heart will turn cold!
Quick! Harken to me and don't say you weren't told!
He speaks like a poet much better then I
He studied through ages to make up his lies
He will serenade you just as soon as he's able
He sings like an angel! Not a demon, an angel!
He doesn't come nigh when you're strong in your faith
But the Devil is patient, he watches and waits
He prides himself planning mistakes you will make
And once you have made one, he's right in your face
He's reeling you into a one-sided fight
He will tell you you're evil and he will be right
He wants to do battle with you and not Christ
When he finds you alone, he thinks: Isn't this nice!?
If angels defected from heaven to him
Than we cannot imagine the danger we're in
But we can go where he can't go, to the foot of the cross
Where our souls won't believe the accuser of God
