The Family Pet

Run for cover or hide behind another lover
Your life was never your own just a dog after the master’s bone
Run in circles and chase your tail until you fall off the trail
And when the world gets dark and you’ve left the dog park
Become an animal, claw and bite in defense
Until you can jump the fence back to your family home
And follow the same routine all over again
