The Fall of the Mighty
Did we ever hear the cock crow and never knew it was time?
Did we ever see the rivers run dry and never pondered?
Did we ever hear the earth tremble and never felt the shock?
How has evil taken over without warning!
How has the mighty fallen like a weathered leaf
How has the Lion laid down his crown in defeat
How can ancient walls be broken down in a twinkle of an eye
Oh! The wind roars in ovation to the mighty
The thunder claps rashly to welcome a new client
The birds sing joyfully in anticipation of the service of songs
Yet the clouds are unhappy and moody
For the earth has opened up her mouth in total victory
Oh! Oh! Oh!
Our hearts are full of grief and pains
Our valleys of dimples are now risen into mountains of pimples
Our cheeks are being drained by the water-fall of tears
Even our days, being counted on a mourn row
And our stories are now written in the book of lamentation
Sadly, darkness has filled the brightest of hearts
For the sudden disappearance of an icon
Who has embarked on a journey of no returns
To the bosom of the accurate time keeper
Who would not allow our tears to drain our cheeks
Nor our sweat to wet our gowns
But will someday appoint unto us, a new glory for our old stories…
