The Fall

What you see
on the outside
is not what I am
on the inside.
Crippled by
my own fears.
Starting to dread
the oncoming years.
People look and think
that I have it all.
They do not realize
I am heading for a fall.
Everyday, I put on a face
to hide the lies.
Soon enough,
that will crack with my cries.
Cannot see any escape
on the horizon
only a dark chasm
starting to widen

I think we all have some of that, hiding behind a facade. Recognizing it yourself is the first step to being real.
