The Fairies
Drinking dew drops
under the light of the moon
Gathering sweet nectar
from flowers in bloom
Like sparks of light that glitter at night
tiny colorful fairies a pure delight
From her open window the little girl sees
dancing fairies a sight she's pleased
Charming fairies gliding in the breeze
hear them giggle what a tease
Twilight brought them to the garden to play
here until the dawn of day
The green fairy fades into the trees
sniffing a dandelion the red one sneezed
So many colors yet they blend
with the flowers they sit in
At her open window the little girl spies
watching fairies with butterflies fly
But her hiccup ends her delight
frighten fairies scurry off in flight
Little girl feeling blue goes to bed
dreams of fairies fill her sleepy head
The white fairy shines signal bright
the fairies return for their garden night.
