The Eye of Me

Lurking in my darkened mind, hatred strains
for freedom...incarcerated by sanity...ever
seething, bleeding, clawing at chains,
locked by my hand. It will sever
my soul if the key
escapes from me.

Nestled in my hidden eye, my heart cries
with such pain...adorned in white...hushed,
deep, unseen, cringing from all eyes,
protected by my wrath. It will be crushed
by Christ if I expose
myself to the murderous blow.

I walk upon a virgin sea, dawn's light
upon my hair, the breeze my breath,
the sun my smile, the sands my treasure, God my might,
the rain, my tears...life my death.

I know not me.
I know not Thee.

Patricia. this poem is inspirational. btw the poem pain that i wrote was not about me. all of my poems are my stories of people i see. when i look into someones eyes i see the hidden pain that is there. sometimes they talk to me about it and i write a poem for them. thank you so much for your support and concern. -rebecca

You can know yourself. You will know yourself if you live life to the fullest and observe your choses and how they make you feel ..good or bad? You can, do and will know God for you are a part of the body of God and all life comes from God and is neither good nor bad just necessary for the continuation of Life/Growth/God even death is from God and necessary for life to continue. And I identified with your verse greatly it hurts to search and search and find no single solitary answer to anything.
