The Essence of Life

When GOD said "Let there be",

 I was created first.

And from me man was formed with a mir sprinkle of my dust.

I am the air, every breath that you breathe.

Inhaling and exhaling the very soul of me.

I am clouds of distress, the whirling storms growing near.

Sometimes overwhelmed with worry, my foundation shakes with fear.

I am the foliage of Autumn, the clear skies of summer.

I am the flashing of lightening,

I am the rumbling of thunder.

I am the crashing of the waves, the twisting of the winds.

I am the roaring hunger for sustenance which trembles within.

Nourishing my land, replenishing it's beauty.

I am MOTHER to all and this is my duty.

I am streams of lava slowly flowing downhill,

I'm moving glaciers of ice,

I am wide open fields

I am lillies blowing in the wind,

I am falling red leaves.

I am pink skylines,

I am the deepest blue seas.

I am hot sands of Egypt,

I am the Seven Wonders of the World.

I am the Garden of Eden.

I am the awakening ray of sun

I am the calm rest of night.

I am the foundation

I am the essence of life

Chiquita, thanks for commenting on my "Love's Parameter's." So glad you approve. This poem of yours strikes a chord in me so deep I can almost feel your presence coursing through my veins. I know that probably sounds absurd but if poetry is about making connections, you've plugged directly into my soul): Terrell Martin
