The Endless Tick Tock of the Clock

The endless tick tock
Echoing off the walls and into my mind
A clock hangs on the wall
Counting the seconds
The minutes
The hours
The time that makes up my life
Does it know anything about me?
Can it see the stress it causes me?
Every tick shortens my life
Every tock bring be closer to my end
My mind wanders
It wonders
Have I lead a happy life?
Have I made others happy?
One day my heart knows
My mind remembers
The clock will stop
My life will fade and I will never know
Have I had any affect on anyone?
Have I made one person smile?
Did I matter?

As the clock ticks, we seem to run too fast trying to fit life in. I like your use of questions--gives the reader with something to think about. Thank you for your kind words on my poem. Keep on writing. Karen
