A Collaboration with my sweet and witty friend Leslie Albright, who did the last two stanzas. The first two are mine. I think she maybe entered only one other contest here at all, so that is why I chose her for this collaboration of Silent One's, and also, I think she is a GREAT writer who needs to write more and more!

The Endless Fight My sis and I, we made a vow, to lose all of our weight somehow. Long months we tried; sometimes we’d cheat. Jogging! Oh the agony of da feet! A one-week cruise; sister noshed and noshed - Put back half the weight she’d lost! A month she took to put things right. Battle of the Bulge is the endless fight! But, I digress, we're only human. You can only eat so much with cumin. And the next day she made her goal. God bless her heart, God bless her soul. So now when we get on the scale. Sometimes we lose, sometimes we fail. Butt, ;) we both get tired of the botching. Of all this weighting and this watching. Nov. 13, 2011 for Silent One's Introduction By Collaboration Poetry Contest

It was mainly regular contestant poets who entered...However they are mentioned in the poem, so people can go read their work...Many poems that entered the contest were not collaborations..I think those people misunderstood the point of the contest...

It's too bad they did not understand. I think collaboration contests get misconstrued a lot. For that reason, I'll never do that type of contest here. I appreciate the members who mentioned their collaborators in your contest! It's unfortunate if some of those collaborators did not submit their entries as well.

I am so so sorry! I have no clue why your collaboration was on part of the winning list! I have sorted it out now. You should appear in the winners list. Great choice for a partner to collaborate with. It always helps when there is someone to lose weight with. Thanks for taking part

we both entered on the last day, Silent One. I am curious why some of the collaboration partners are not on your list. Did many of collaborators just not enter their poems? I was surprised that the point was to introduce the new poets who rarely enter contests but i did not see many of them on the list. I wonder if they were too shy to enter the contest?

How interesting it is to watch weight figures going down and how sad it is to see them rising in spite of best efforts. Well knitted lines in both parts dear friend. With best wishes...Ravindra

G'day Andrea … this appears to be a life long roller coaster for many who have a weight gain problem, but oh gee Andrea, some of the food on offer is so hard to bypass - thank you Andrea - Lindsay

Thank you Andrea for asking me to do this. I count myself honored to have you choose me. I've always wanted to collaborate with someone on a poem but it just never came together. And thank you for the nice comment of me up in your poet's notes. <3 :)

haha, Leslie's comment is so funny. I fought the battle most of my life, Arturo, until four years ago when i put priority on vegetables. Since then I've lost a lot of weight and plan to stay "normal" now the rest of my life!

I've never had a problem with weight either Arturo. I can put it on very easy. :)
