The End of Days

I remember sadly days gone by
When tears like a river, shed from my eyes.
Of my regrets, there have been quite a few
And a deep price paid on the paths i'd
choose.
A family scattered, from here to there
Once a close-knit unit, now no one cares.
Kicked to the curb, and thrown under the bus,
I just live alone, with nobody left to trust.
The layered calice around my heart grows,
And whats locked away, only God and I know.
My mirror now shuns my morning gaze
Like me , its just waiting for the end of days.

Truly there are days of such despair. You painted the emotion well with your words—too well almost, for they summoned feelings that are kindred since they are in parallel with many of mine. Very glad you wrote this.
