The Emerald, Enchanted Pond

                     12/10/2023






We were so excited and how we waited so as kids,
For the emerald liquid to turn immediately to hard ice.
Which, one day, it so thrillingly, magically, lovingly,did.


I ran.with heart pouding and aglow into my house.
How come I was such a wild child in a frenetic state of hurry?
Why to find my precious,gleaming figure skates, of course!


The luminous, beloved, pond  you must know..
Was but four feet from our white back door!
And,we ran to the pomd and brushed off her powered snow.


I saw my face in it, as I delicately touched the pond’s face,
She, my ice enchantress, smiled back,as I told her, how I so missed her.!
She welcomed me back, with loving, wiinter’s sweet.grace!


My emerald enhantress, I skated on you ‘neath God’s auspicious moon.
You were the sweet, happy days of a poet’s memorable, childhood.
I dream of her pond,under winter’s grinning, nightfall,which is soon!

Just a few steps away.. how perfect was that?One has to think back and be grateful for whatever we have.. these were blessings. I know you know it is because I know you well enough.. I had lessons when I was very young. I mean I’m not an Olympian skater I never was.. I always had fear, but I had fun too. The last time I skated was about 25 years ago.. I fell on my arse and they made me go home and I didn’t want to. I was at a rink with a short skirt on and having fun. Maria was there too.. I appreciate you stopping by today and hoping you’re feeling better.. I’m OK some pain you know what that’s like. I hope I’ll be more active here in the new year.. wish you merry Christmas and also happy new year. God bless you with the surgery.. be good, follow everything they sayo. Merci , Pangie

You can see in my comments to Sara my experiences with figure skating….. And as you know last year, when I broke my thigh in three places.there will be no more dancing or skating. That breaks my heart.. and I hear music and I go crazy but I can’t dance!yes, my parents paid for skating lessons. I was not that great at it but it sure was good exercise and fun and companionship better than being online like kids are now.. so sad and gross. Wishing you a Christmas season of love and hope I will be online more in 2024. Hope I will write much better.. Keep in touch !Merci.,Pangie
