The Embrace of Mermaid
On the silver sands of the beguiling beach
spectral rays of the rising sun rush to reach,
brace the mystique beauty of the deep sea,
flushing the iridium skin of her satin body.
With colored coral she combs her golden hair,
swirling around the ivory face in the rippling air.
The song of the swelling waves she could hear
in the shining concave shell she holds on her ear.
The whistling zephyr flows with her pearly glow,
brings to her the music of the distant rainbow.
Butterflies float with the scent of the spring day,
the loneliness of the queen of sea they waft away.
The shipwrecked sailor is lost in the stormy sea,
the shore of yonder beyond the surge he can’t see.
Before the last lights of the sinking sun on sea fade
he is embraced by the loving arms of the mermaid.
