The Edge
I peer over the edge it’s such a long way down
Yet from where I stand I clearly see the ground
The sides are jagged they look much like a knife
At one point I stood here thinking of ending my life.
The edge holds much sorrow I lost many people there
They closed their eyes and jumped as if they didn’t care
I see the affect on all the people they did love
Peacefully they went on the wings of a dove.
I lost so many things some family and some friends
My heart still has sorrow with time it shall mend
I just wish I had the chance for a final goodbye
But instead I heard the sounds of an angel sigh.
Once someone’s gone you’ll never see them again
So tell them how you feel as often as you can
Otherwise you will be overwhelmed with remorse and regret
I just close my eyes because I need to try to forget…
Peace does come as you realize there’s a better place
When you are at the side of God enjoying his good grace
Some things just happen and people just die
While the ones that are left are induced to cry.
Over the rainbow far away from the edge
Lies the truth that can lead you away from the ledge
There’s so much in life that we shall never understand
So many things that occur our not at our command.
