From winter’s doldrums drab and dark,
the sight of you ignites a spark.
You fill my heart with ecstasy
of fun-filled days for fantasy.
Your full, fresh, face flush, lily-white
remind of Christ’s whose shone with light,
on Sunday’s resurrection morn,
the day when hope for man was born.
Your trumpet shape heralds a time
of hope-filled days pursuing prime.
Your purity reflecting light
banishes gloom of winter’s night.
I long to see your smiling face
and have you grace my dwelling place
with fragrant scent so sweet and strong,
which fills my heart with Easter’s song.
