The Early Warning French Window

The Early Warning French Window David J Walker The unmistakable tapping At the protruding French windows in The breakfast nook Is the early warning system I’ve relied on betraying the otherwise Silent arrival of a wintery day Sleet and ice announce its Comings and goings before the unseen dawn The darkness extended to noon Gray will be the color of today Pitched against the icy white And I might just stay Right here Watching the world from my French Window
