The Dungeon of Despair

Your whole world has plunged into darkness Your life has become a sorry mess You feel hemmed in by that wall of stones While the damp of despair swamps your bones Rats prowl in the corners of your mind Never and nowhere peace can you find All outside walk, joyful in their sun Blind to the mental pain you are on In your maze you're totally confined Each regret heavily underlined Sardonic Death crooking his finger Beckons you no longer to linger He offers gas, drugs, drowning or rope Markers of that final loss of hope His door swings open. At his invite Will you walk through into blissful night?
