The Drive From Within

Within our very inner self
us poets move into our gear
there is the releasing of the clutch
forward moving as we steer

We run smoothly when in top gear
different from reverse the other way
what's the vital ingredient inside?
one that drives you every day

The love of words encaptures you
wanting to inspire and transform
lifting your pen stroking the paper
the tips so smooth even still warm

There's such a full emotion felt
as one speaks through sparkling ink
driving past every ink spilled page
filled with words for others to drink

So to write fills that something
that nothing else can really do
a driving force like no other
holds you together just like glue

( written when going through dry spell some years ago to help me get back on track)
