The Dragon's Song

I am that dragon wild and free that challenged men should fear, But maidens pure of heart and soul are those for whom I care; I hear the siren's call and grace her lilting, playful winds, Hugging inconstant flows and ebbs caressing faithful wings; I take or leave a bounty as I choose to do at will, I agitate to fascinate, I soar and dive to thrill; But know you that the treasure that I need is not a thing, I seek to bring under my spell a most enchanting being; Mythical in your sphere of knowledge, mystical in mine, A creature of an intrinsic beauty, sensual and refined; This spirit weaves a power that men struggle to access, A flame of such intense intelligence that I must possess; I'll penetrate a shield of order with my piercing eyes, I'll then ignite that lust and longing to unlease my prize; I'll use the wisdom of the ages that I gained at birth, And protect my fiery magic Sprite until my dying breath.
