The Dragon Slayer

I must somehow slay this dragon
That's infilitrated my soul
Tho I fight with all my might
His grasp is just too tight
He will not let me go

They call this dragon heartache
His claws, as strong as steel
His breath forever burning
My heart will not stop yearning
Just once again, to feel

Tho I fight without a weapon
He will not fight me fair
I have no mighty sword to wield
He fights me in an unseen field
With a flame that's called despair

Tho this battle keeps on raging
I will not surrender
For I have too much to lose
And I must continue to choose
To be my heart's defender

If this broken heart is destiny
I will not hide my face
This dragon I will slay
And I'll drive this pain away
Til he bows in utter disgrace
