Early mornings receive his song Coo, coo, coo, coo 'tis true It echoes in the deep hollow There are answers, a few It seems some of his family Has moved across the way And dislocated by distance Their songs come crisp at day Cooing though morn's skies are gray Communicate their desires To their love; to their enemy A woe that is so dire

I know they mate for life, so one would imagine being separated would make them woeful. This seems a little sad to me, Mrs Sara. Not sure that was your intention. Probably just me. It is written beautifully:)

Daniel, We have one species of Dove here that does sound mournful but I like their call as well as the other Doves..Yes, there is a certain amount of sadness here for that morning I was feeling some sadness..I was thinking about how they must make some kind of sound to their predators to stay away as well as love calls to their mates..Yes, they do mate for life and are really grieved if their mate dies..Sara
