Honolulu has banned pedestrians from looking at mobile phones, texting or using digital devices while crossing the road. The measure is aimed at reducing injuries and deaths from "distracted walking". The new legislation, which will come into effect on 25 October 2017, states that "no pedestrian shall cross a street or highway while viewing a mobile electronic device".

Zombie Texting Chicken Promenade

Listen to poem:
No walking while distracted - that's the law Don't leave the kerb and step under a bus Don't oggle that hulk, nor admire that chick Keep all eyes on the road No rocking along to music box No whistling or humming allowed No eating a burger while strolling No admiring the view or star gazing No distracting thoughts either Why Oh Why is it chicken now, to cross the road!
