The Distance
So heavy tonight, the air is.
Your scent lingers fresh
to my senses and all I hear is
the question fresh on my mind.
But lasting truth is elusive, as love is
and tomorrow can't be bribed
to keep a love as it is
today and yesterday. Strong as I will it always.
But my will is weak, as a love-stricken heart is,
and if I'm to have an answer now,
I'll tell you what my heaviest wish is,
that I could love you for a thousand years.
If you could pretend that a moment is more than what it is.
