The Difference Between You and I
You say you deserve this world
You want everything it’s got
You say you deserve it all
That’s the difference between you and I
I know I deserve hell
To be burned with my sins tonight
I’m such a shameful disgrace
How can one look me in the face
What you do in the dark
Will only be magnified
When it’s brought to the light
Everyone has their secrets
Didn’t you know you couldn’t keep it
You say you deserve this world
You want everything it’s got
You say you deserve it all
That’s the difference between you and I
The pleasures of the present
Will later not seem so pleasant
When you have to look God in the face
And tell Him everything you’ve done wrong
If only someone could read your mind
Or take a look into your soul
They would see your innocence is just an act
Don’t you know you better run and hide
You say you deserve this world
You want everything it’s got
You say you deserve it all
That’s the difference between you and I
I know I deserve hell

How can one look me in the face
You’re looking for the promise land
But you don’t have God’s grace at hand
You’ve denied everything he has given you
So now God’s mercy is through with you
I chose to trust in God
And I took his hand through the end
I denied my sinful ways
That’s the difference between you and I
