The Difference Between Us

The Difference Between us

mother told me hurry up
you don't want to be late
father said to slow down
you will only have to wait
since I was going nowhere
I just kept a steady gait

mother said be tidy
there's peace in cleanliness
father said I'm busy
some day I'll get to this
since I was doing nothing
I organized the mess

mother said that luck
was the founder of the feast
father said that skill
killed and cooked the beast
since I wasn't hungry
my quarry was released

mother said find happiness
the seed is in your heart
father said dont harvest it
your sure to fall apart
since I am really no one
I took pride in having doubt

mother said keep smiling
let no one hear you fuss
father said don't hold back
let them hear you cuss
so I became the exception
to the difference's in us
