The Dictator

*dedicated to Rafael Trujillo Choose to hide or choose to run From the barrel of my gun Choose to flee or choose to stay For this could be your dying day Praise me as I stomp you down And beat you dead into the ground Praise my countenance revere And you will know the face of fear Now you see me now you don't Now you love me soon you won't I decide who lives and dies Spinning truth from heinous lies I'm the god with all the power I'm the world's most darkest hour Dare you ever question me? If I'm the man you wish to be?

Yoni, you convey your thoughts well in this powerful poem! But I hope Rafael is not this type of man. I can tell he has had a major impact on your spirit. Thanks for your comments on "Hungry and Homeless Americans." Obama wanted the "two sides" to work together, but perhaps Congress is not ready for such an idealist approach. Love, Carolyn

This is very dark and even a bit morbid...I don't think one would like to set you off, lol. But you're interpretation of my poem was one of the most clear and exact and right-on interpretations I've had yet. Thank you.:) Well done on this write. Best wishes, Sara
