The doctor’s words, the verdict Cancer, not just lab’s results Imaging findings, though imperfect In the brain, diagnosis so disturbing Disturbing? Oh, but so much more Findings so unsettling – so much to fear On my knees – on a cold, hard floor Asking Jesus for healing, for hope… Hope to get us through this fight, Reveal the truth – God is in control Only Jesus can help us to see the light Beyond the diagnosis – there is life Life in the heart who believes Even though we feel so very weak There is One whose love relieves It is Him who heals all my grief Grief that comes from this fear Fear of the illness that is so real Cancer says we have only a year But I know a God who can heal Heal his brain – the cancer gone Leaving our souls full of hope We will surely see the light of dawn When we hear remission’s song Song of faith, song of belief With Jesus, we know sweet peace He provides our spirits such relief Reminding of the stripes He received Received for us, His children who see Beyond the valley, to the mountain top Where cancer is only a dark memory And the diagnosis is merely past grief Grief that tells me – I need Jesus Who provides a place so tranquil He is the One who never leaves us Only He can destroy this disease
