The Devil's Getting Busy
THE DEVIL’S GETTING BUSY
The devil’s getting busy now that at last he sees
I’m working for my Savior and want Him now to please.
He used to keep me busy enjoying lust and sin,
But then I turned to Jesus and asked Him to come in.
He cannot have my soul now, so he attacks my mind
And memories of my failures I way too often find.
Or something will upset me, and anger will set in;
I lose my patience quickly and then again I sin.
I wish it wasn’t like this, but it is just God’s plan
For me to face temptation and stand up like a man.
So Lord, help me stay busy, help me not to give in;
Help me when I have fallen to then confess that sin.
The devil may be busy while he is free below,
But his days will soon be over--and I know where he’ll go!
No more will he be busy with me here in this place,
I’ll be in heaven forever because of Christ’s great grace!
That day he’ll be quite busy there in the lake of fire,
While I will dwell in freedom from him in that land higher!
